Standing derelict for years next door to one of Jersey’s longest-running restaurants, Awabi is now a small independent restaurant specialising in Asian-fusion cuisine. Formerly the Diamond Chinese restaurant, its Asian roots date back to the 1970s when it first opened as the ‘Sun King’ Chinese restaurant. The client, born in Jersey but whose parents emigrated from Hong Kong wanted to shake up the food and drink scene by creating a relaxed dining experience serving up fresh and unfamiliar Asian dishes.
